From the Author
Why did I write My Toddler Talks? To help parents and professionals get their toddlers talking! When I first began treating toddlers who were delayed with their speech development, I struggled to find easy to understand, step-by-step guides for my parents to read. Collecting information from various resources was very cumbersome and trying -even then, I couldn't find practical and hands-on resources. So, I decided to write a workbook for my parents! My Toddler Talks is the culmination of several years of analysis of current research and work experience. I have completed all the play routines, performed all the techniques and strategies and continue to implement play routines and train current clients at my private practice Scanlon Speech Therapy, LLC.

About the Author
Kimberly is a New Jersey-licensed speech pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a creative thinker and a passionate therapist who believes that children should have fun in therapy. Kimberly has had the opportunity to hone her skills by working in various settings serving all ages, populations, and disorders. She is a two time recipient of ASHA's award for continuing education (ACE). She graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science and earned her Master of Arts in Communication Disorders from Montclair State University.�

In addition to writing books and blog posts, Kimberly is busy running her private practice, Scanlon Speech Therapy. A life-long resident of Bergen County, NJ, Kimberly lives with her husband, Ryan, their delightful daughter Kerrigan, and their very cute but mischievous chocolate Labrador Retriever, Barney.

Amazing book!

My 2 year old son is in speech therapy, and this book really coincides with the techniques we are learning from the speech therapist. This is great for me to continue working with my son in our home - the ideas in this book are excellent, with great specific instructions. The introduction is a must read - do not skip!

This book has been helpful to me as I teach young children who have speech and other developmental delays. This book will also be helpful to parents and professionals who work with children ages 0-3 years. The writer describes specific activities that will help toddlers develop language and communication. Each activity includes a list of materials that are needed as well as an outline of steps in order to carry out the activity. This is a very practical and hands-on book that will guide you to help your child or student develop in language and in other areas of development. The writer describes how to work with young children in a patient, sensitive, and loving way in order for each child to develop at their own pace. The writer combines a very strong understanding of child development with practical activities to help your child or students develop language in a fun way.

To an anesthesiologist who practices pain control and management, Burchiel's book presents this endeavor with realism and pragmatism. Surgical Management of Pain is well organized, with broad coverage not only of surgical approaches to pain management but also of nonsurgical and pharmacologic methods of pain control. In fact, the general evaluation of pain and the nonsurgical management of pain are so well presented that the title of the book perhaps does it some injustice. There is also an unusual emphasis on the role of allied-health professionals in the management of pain. The list of well-known contributors to the book reads like a Who's Who in the field of pain management. They join in presenting a comprehensive approach, a variety and divergence of opinions, and actual experiences from situations encountered in practice. Each chapter is punctuated by boxes highlighting pearls that effectively emphasize the essence of each topic and includes a commentary by another authority, who not only provides another opinion or perspective on the topic but also expands on it and sometimes offers a divergent opinion or frank disagreement, making it plain that in many aspects of pain management, consensus is lacking or opinions are unequivocal. The chapters are also generally well documented, with up-to-date citations of works that are essential for a multidisciplinary study of the management of pain. The complications and aftereffects of surgery for pain are well presented, with coverage of the incidence of treatment failure or recurrence of the original pain. The resulting discomfort in such cases is emphasized, especially in the case of patients with prolonged or permanent neurologic deficits. It is extremely important for patients to have reversible pain control so that they will experience the sequelae of the surgical treatment. The book is not perfect. Several authors make an insufficient distinction between the pain due to cancer and chronic pain of non-neoplastic origin. I would also have appreciated a discussion of the timing of therapy: When should practitioners stop a nonsurgical method of pain control and resort to surgery, especially in cases involving cancer and other causes of intractable pain? The chapter on the use of controlled substances should have covered after-care procedures and the potential for drug abuse and misuse. This excellent book will interest anyone treating pain and pain syndromes, regardless of their specialty and regardless of whether they see patients whose primary symptom is pain or other patients. The material will be of value to those of all levels of expertise, from students to generalists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists and those who specialize in the day-to-day management of difficult, recurrent, and intractable pain. Spirit releasement therapy

Anyone that has experiences with spirits or influences from the "other side" needs to review the material in this text. HIs approach provides some good insight and practical techniques in dealing with spiritual influences or supposed emotional dysfunction and disorders.

Much of his commentary touches on things I've experience personally and dealt in prayer and meditation however seeing it documented in a manner as he has done is useful in managing people on this side as well as the other. Emotional problems or other states of mental confusion are symptomatic of things not easily seen or perceived.

I agree with most his assumptions as to the cause and nature of spiritual beings and phenomena, however his techniques are very useful in addressing many mental and emotional situations and their hidden causes.

A very nice compilation of examples, methods and testimonies for those that are interested in this type healing.

A sound modality to work with.

I had the privilege of taking Bill Baldwin 's workshop. Its always meaningful when one has the opportunity to spend time with the creator of a process. His book is written like he does his workshops. I like his process better than any other. For those interested in this level of healing I would highly recommend this book.

Academic Writing Style, but Good Book

You would think that a psychologist would have superirior writing skills, but he settles for an inferior academic approach to writing that is often awkward and much unlike the language that we speak. Other than that the material in this book is of great value. I would like to see this book edited and rewritten by someone who knows how to write. The information therein is much too valuable to be lost to misunderstandings due to a poor writing style. I've done academia, and some there simply cannot write and this seems to be the case with this author. However I did understand everything even though the language was peculiar. Don't let the writing style stop you from reading this valuable book. It is indeed an eye opener.

This was a frothy dessert of a book, about a restaurateur who falls for a food critic.

Shannon Bloomfield owns the Wolf and the Fox, an upscale restaurant that currently takes all her time, after two relationships with men who cheated on her. She learns that a food critic from the rating group that took a star away from her in their last edition is planning to visit her restaurant. When she meets critic Tate Gooding she thinks that the Johnny Depp look-alike is too far out of her league. But Tate, who has his own secrets, is attracted to her way beyond his normal casual hookups at BDSM clubs across the country.

When the two of them have an encounter in an alleyway, they set sparks off each other and arouse the onlookers. But they also set off reactions in a stalker who wants Shannon to quit seeing Tate. Can these two overcome the danger and their secrets to find their HEA?

Readers can expect some mild BDSM, including bondage, anal play, spanking and some light femdom. They should not expect deep emotional connections or a major plot. It’s a fun read with some really hot sex scenes.

This book is so smoking, deliciously, hot! It's even better than I normally expect from prolific Karen Mercury -- I totally adored Tate's roommate, who is so funny and I also loved how Tate and Shannon created their own little family.
